Monique Skruzny //

CEO & Founding Partner

Monique brings 25 years of capital markets experience, as a start-up entrepreneur, angel investor, investment banker, advisor and operating executive responsible for raising over $1 billion to her client advisory work. She has spent much of her career in the media, internet and hospitality sectors as well as the emerging markets.  She focuses on pre-IPO preparation, capital markets transactions, valuation-related issues and special situations including advising boards and senior management teams on best practices and managing proxy communications and other key events and disclosure issues. Monique works closely with the private equity community on portfolio exit strategy preparation and is passionate about helping entrepreneurs realize their visions.

She has held executive positions with responsibility for corporate finance and strategic communications, including investor relations, at AOL. She was the COO and CFO of Melia Americas and took the hospitality real estate company public and was a founding team member and head of business development of one of News Corp.’s satellite television systems, Sky Latin America (now part of DirecTV). She was a founder of an internet site with categories targeted at women and raised several rounds of funding.  She has also worked in project finance at the World Bank’s International Finance Corporation and at James D. Wolfensohn, Inc., where she was an investment banker.

Monique is an Executive Board Director of the Wharton School and spent 7 years as a Director of Pro Mujer, a microfinance organization in Latin America.  She was named a 2016 Woman of Influence in New York City and, in 2000, one of the Most Powerful Women in Latin American Internet.  Monique was also a Director of the Council of the Americas.

She received a BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business.  She is fluent in Spanish and conversational in Portuguese.
